Every month Pitt Spanish Club has coffee and bake sales with coffee from the local non-profit, Coffee Arabica for Education (CAFE). This is not ordinary coffee. It is mountain-grown, organically-certified, pesticide-free, directly traded, and hand picked.
All the proceeds of coffee sales fund scholarships for impoverished children in grades 7-12 who live in the coffee-growing communities in El Merendón, Honduras. Free public education ends in 6th grade for students in Honduras.
Their basic mission is to: “Prevent youth delinquency and violence through education and employment training in Honduras.”
Pitt Spanish Club hosts monthly coffee sales in Posvar Hall. Check our calendar for specific dates and times.
